Day 1

Your exclusive journey begins with a Private Luxury Transfer from Rome, offering a seamless 2.5-hour journey directly to your magnificent accommodation: a luxury castle perched at the top of a picturesque village. Rated 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor, this stunning property is your home for the week, providing every comfort and amenity, including a 24-hour reception, a dedicated concierge, and access to the panoramic terrace pool. Upon arrival, settle into your well-appointed quarters, then join a relaxing wine tasting paired with a gourmet light lunch. The afternoon is yours to enjoy a guided exploration of this 9th-century castle. Trace its layered history as a fortified manor and centuries-long home to powerful noble families, or, simply settle back and unwind. As evening approaches, we'll take a short, scenic walk to a local ristorante for a memorable dinner of authentic regional cuisine.

Day 2

Day Two begins with a lavish breakfast before we take a scenic journey to Sulmona. This ancient town, the birthplace of the Roman poet Ovid, is steeped in history. We start with a guided tour, where you will marvel at the impressive 13th-century Gothic aqueduct and learn about the city’s storied past. The tour culminates with a sampling of world-famous confetti (sugared almond treats), a confectionery art perfected here for over two millennia. Lunch is enjoyed at a picturesque spot next to the majestic Piazza Garibaldi. Following lunch, we return to the castle, where the afternoon is reserved for your independent discovery and relaxation. As evening descends, we gather for a delicious dinner at an intimate, high-quality braceria. This acclaimed local restaurant is renowned for its exceptional, wood-fired meats and authentic Abruzzese dishes, served in a charming, garden setting.

Day 3

Following breakfast, we journey to Guardiagrele, the 'City of Stone', renowned for its medieval walls and artisan traditions. Here, you will have the delightful option to sample the famous and delicate local pastry, sise delle monache. We then pause for a light lunch in an intimate restaurant set semi-subterraneously into a natural grotta. The afternoon takes us to the spectacular coast to explore the Abbazia di San Giovanni in Venere. This magnificent 13th-century Benedictine complex stands on the ancient site of a Roman temple dedicated to Venus, commanding breathtaking panoramic views. After a private tour, we enjoy an elegant aperitivo in the abbey’s serene gardens. The evening culminates with a walk along the shore before a truly unique dinner: a seafood feast at a renowned trabocco. These iconic wooden fishing platforms extend over the water, offering an unforgettable experience as we dine with the sun setting over the Adriatic.

Day 4

Following a leisurely breakfast, we dedicate our morning with a fascinating visit to a renowned family-owned ceramics factory. Here, you will observe the master artisan at work, crafting high-quality majolica pieces, unique works of art sought after by collectors globally. Following a tour of the showroom, a complimentary voucher will be provided towards a special keepsake. Next, we head into the countryside for a memorable meal at a picturesque agriturismo. Weather permitting, we will settle for a long, lazy lunch beneath the shade of an ancient oak tree, savouring traditional, slow-cooked Abruzzese cuisine. In the afternoon, we tour the medieval hill town of Bucchianico, learning about its dramatic history and deep ties to Saint Camillus. The day concludes with an atmospheric tasting in an extraordinary underground stable. This converted wine cellar offers an intimate sampling of local wines paired with premium salumi and cheeses.

Day 5

Following a leisurely breakfast, we dedicate our morning to visiting Roccascalegna, a historic town dominated by its remarkable medieval fortress. We begin with an authentic pasta-making masterclass at a local ristorante, where you will learn to craft traditional Abruzzese specialties by hand. After our class, we tour the breathtaking castle ruins, built directly onto a vertical rock spur. You will trace the history of this 10th-century Lombard stronghold and take in the magnificent panoramic views over the valley. We return to the ristorante to enjoy the fruits of your labour with a freshly prepared, traditional lunch. We return to our castle accommodation in the late afternoon. The evening is reserved for complete freedom: you may choose to enjoy a quiet in-room dinner, take a pleasant walk to a local bar in the village, or simply relax poolside and reflect on your travels.

Day 6

We begin this splendid day with a delightful breakfast before preparing for a highlight: a lavish lunch at a Michelin Red and Green Star ristorante. This is an occasion for elegant attire; please feel free to dress for the occasion. Returning briefly to the castle, you will have time to change into comfortable clothing before our journey to the vibrant coastal city of Pescara. You are afforded free time here to enjoy the city's delights: stroll the lively promenade, indulge in some shopping, enjoy a famous Italian ice-cream, or take a walk along the sandy beach. The late afternoon is entirely yours for independent enjoyment. As your palates will be satisfied by the Michelin lunch, we leave your evening open for a light bite or simply a relaxing moment. We will meet you in the city later to personally escort you back to the castle for the evening.

Day 7

Following a delightful breakfast, we journey inland to L'Aquila, the historic capital of the region. Here, you will witness the city's remarkable resilience and learn about its storied past, exploring key landmarks like the imposing Spanish Fortress. Lunch is a relaxed affair at a local trattoria before we visit the exquisite fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio. This perfectly preserved borgo is famed for its white stone architecture and its ancient circular Medici tower, offering a captivating glimpse into the past. Returning to the castle, you will have ample time to prepare and pack before our final celebratory dinner. We will feast at the castle, where the evening's musical entertainment will be provided by musicians who studied at one of Rome’s prestigious musical institutions.

Day 8

Your immersive journey concludes on the final morning with a final breakfast at the castle. Directly following breakfast, your onward journey begins. You will receive a seamless transfer to your choice of departure point, whether the Pescara airport, the local train station, or direct connection to the bus link for Fiumicino Airport, ensuring a perfectly curated farewell.
