Itinerary
Day 1
The journey begins in Rome with a private 2.5-hour transfer to the picturesque town of Crecchio in Abruzzo, your home for the week. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch at a family-run taverna before settling into our exclusive accommodation. In the afternoon, visit my ancestral home, where the Mayor will greet you with a special reception at the town hall, followed by a guided tour of this historic town.
End the day with a relaxed evening savoring authentic pizza at a local agriturismo.
Day 2
Start your day with a leisurely breakfast at our charming accommodation before stepping into history at a breathtaking 17th-century baronial palace. Here, you'll indulge in a curated wine-tasting experience paired with a delightful light lunch, savouring the flavours of the region. In the afternoon, we’ll journey to Chieti - a city older than Rome itself - where ancient streets and remarkable architecture tell stories of centuries past. As evening falls, unwind with a relaxed dinner at a traditional trattoria, enjoying authentic local cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Day 3
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before setting off on a journey through breathtaking countryside vistas. As we explore the picturesque landscape, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region before indulging in a delicious pasta tasting, showcasing local specialities crafted with time-honoured traditions. We’ll visit a peaceful ancient abbey, a place of quiet reflection and historical significance, before paying our respects at the Canadian WWII cemetery - a solemn tribute to the sacrifices of the past. As evening approaches, we’ll dine on an iconic trabocco, a historic fishing platform set over the sea, where fresh seafood and local delicacies take centre stage. With the sunset casting golden hues over the water, relax and savour the tranquil beauty of the moment - a perfect end to a remarkable day.
Day 4
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before diving into a hands-on pasta-making class, where you'll master traditional recipes using time-honoured techniques. After crafting fresh pasta, we’ll journey to a historic hilltop citadel, exploring its fascinating architecture and rich heritage. Later, we’ll take a relaxed stroll through the seaside city of Pescara, soaking up its vibrant atmosphere and enjoying time for shopping or simply watching the world go by. As evening falls, indulge in a tasting experience featuring wine, cheese, and regional delicacies in a beautifully restored neviera—a former stone ice house that now offers a unique and elegant setting to savour the flavours of the land.
Day 5
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before venturing into a quintessential cobblestoned town steeped in history, where every winding street tells a story of the past. After exploring its charming lanes, we’ll enjoy a picturesque lunch under the shade of an ancient oak tree at a secluded agriturismo, savouring fresh, locally sourced dishes. Next, we’ll tour a traditional family-run ceramics factory, witnessing the artistry and craftsmanship behind these timeless creations. The afternoon brings an opportunity for serious shopping at a nearby outlet village, where you can browse an array of stylish finds. As the day winds down, we’ll gather for a delicious dinner at a local ristorante, reflecting on a journey filled with culture, tradition, and unforgettable flavours.
Day 6
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before choosing between a day of relaxation by the beach or an adventure exploring breathtaking mountain grottos. Whether soaking up the sun on the shoreline or discovering the hidden wonders of the rugged landscape, the morning offers a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of the region. Enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch surrounded by nature, savouring fresh local flavours in a tranquil setting. As evening falls, indulge in a traditional dinner featuring Brodetto alla Vastese - a rich and flavourful seafood stew that perfectly embodies the coastal heritage of the region, making for a memorable end to the day.
Day 7
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before setting off on a guided tour of L’Aquila, uncovering its rich history and wandering through its charming streets. After immersing yourself in the city’s heritage, enjoy a relaxing aperi-pranzo in the main piazza, soaking up the lively atmosphere while savouring regional specialities. In the afternoon, we’ll venture to a medieval mountain town, where castle ruins tell tales of the past and panoramic views offer a glimpse into the region’s natural beauty. The day concludes with a hearty dinner featuring local river fish or traditional meats, a true celebration of the region’s authentic flavours.
Day 8
Indulge in a visit to a Michelin-starred restaurant, where culinary artistry takes centre stage in an unforgettable dining experience. Afterwards, we’ll explore charming local towns, wandering through picturesque streets and soaking in their unique character. Later, enjoy some free time to pack and unwind before the evening’s grand finale - a poolside farewell dinner featuring traditional arrosticini, local cheeses, antipasto, and sweets. As we celebrate our incredible journey, you'll be serenaded with live music, adding a magical touch to an evening filled with great food, warm company, and unforgettable memories.
Day 9
On the final day, relax over breakfast before beginning your onward journey. You'll be transferred to your preferred departure point, whether it's Pescara airport, the train station, or the bus to Fiumicino airport, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free conclusion to your unforgettable experience.
Tour Exclusions
While my tours are designed to provide an all-encompassing experience, certain items are not included in the package. These exclusions are spirits and cocktails, personal shopping expenses, airfares, travel insurance, and personal transfers.
I recommend arranging your travel insurance and transfers in advance to ensure a seamless journey. For your convenience, I also offer a pickup and drop-off laundry service, should you require it during your stay.
Collection Point
The collection point for our tour is in Rome, but this may change due to seasonal road closures.
The exact location will be confirmed well in advance, and a detailed map will be provided to ensure you can easily find your way to our meeting point in the Eternal City.
